Are there school fees?

Fees for the 60 children in the two Playgroup classes and one Infants class for the 2010-11 academic year (Semesters 1 and 2) will be 5,000 birr per child (£250, 280 euros, $400).

There is no hope of the children's families affording what to them is the equivalent of two years' income. Therefore, Kate is seeking benefactors who will pay the school fees on behalf of each family in return for a copy of the pupil's school report, a school newsletter and a photograph of the assisted child in July, at school year-end.
