Sebkana Farm
Implementation
In March 2009 Kate and Asenake leased the land for Sebkana Farm for 25 years and employed guards to ensure that cattle, sheep and goats did not graze there.In April Kate registered Sebkana Farm as a business with the local government office in Debark, and labourers started excavating a series of lakes for irrigation and to create a habitat for a variety of species.

In July, at the start of the rains, 2,000 indigenous saplings (werka, wanza, besana, grar, tid) were planted at the farm.
In December Kate completed Sebkana Farm's registration for income tax and VAT with the Revenue Office in Debark.
In January 2010 preparations began for growing tomatoes at Sebkana Farm.
