KATE FEREDAY ESHETE helping the needy in Ethiopia

Welcome

Kate Fereday Eshete is an Englishwoman living in Gondar, a city with 250,000 inhabitants located at an altitude of 2,000 metres in the remote northern Ethiopian Highlands.

Kate runs the Tara Centre, a community centre where integrated projects help people, animals and the environment.

In September 2007 Kate opened Empress Mentewab School, a primary school that provides quality, full-day education to disadvantaged children from poor families in Gondar's inner-city slums.
